Shinola Hotel

Fabrication & Prototyping Interiors & Architectural Production Engineering Signage & Environmental Graphics

The Shinola Hotel is the pinnacle of hospitality here in Detroit. It was built in the iconic Rayl’s Hardware Building near the center of downtown. There were many architectural moments that Bedrock decided to restore during development, including the great clock on the SW corner. Facing Grand River and Woodward, this building once carried a large brass mechanical clock that shared time for all of the downtown bustle. Midwest Common designed, engineered and fabricated a new clock and way-finding signage to support the sophisticated redesign of this landmark building.
